Castle Peak Holdings, the investment and development company behind boutique hotel brand Trailborn, has opened its third property, which is located in downtown Highlands, North Carolina.
Trailborn Highlands features 63 guest rooms, a lobby lounge with a central fireplace, an outdoor deck and lawn with picnic tables and fire pits, two private event spaces, as well as a retail market selling branded merchandise and locally sourced snacks. Later in autumn, The Highlands Supper Club restaurant and bar will launch alongside the hotel’s Nordic spa equipped with a sauna, cold plunge showers and a fire pit.
The property has been designed by New York-based studio LOVEISENOUGH with interiors inspired by the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. Guests of all Trailborn hotels will also have access to bicycles, branded coolers and bespoke Field Guides for exploring the area. Off-site excursions can be arranged with local experts while on-site events include live music and craft classes.
As part of the brand’s ‘Keep Extraordinary’ initiative, a portion of proceeds from every room booked on Trailborn’s website will go to the Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust, which focuses on conservation efforts and protecting rare and endemic plants and animals in the Southern Appalachians.
“We are thrilled to announce the opening of Trailborn Highlands, our newest addition to the brand’s portfolio,” said Mike Weiss, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Castle Peak Holdings and Trailborn. “This marks an exciting evolution for the Trailborn brand, following the successful launch of our first properties at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. With Trailborn Highlands, we continue our mission to create design-forward boutique accommodations and unparalleled hospitality experiences in the heart of our country’s most iconic destinations.”
