TravelCenters of America to add to its footprint

The banners the company operate include TA, Petro Shopping Centers and TA Express and they are expanding their footprint through conversions and will add three new travel centres this month.

The scheduled launches are all conversions of existing travel centres to TA-branded sites, part of TA’s broader, strategic turnaround initiatives, which includes plans to rapidly grow its nationwide travel centre footprint through franchising.

With the three openings, TA will expand its network of total travel centres to 269. The three openings this month are a TA Express in Vermillion, South Dakota, an extra TA Express in Nacogdoches, Texas and a TA travel centre in Lake City, Florida. More openings are planned for 2020, in cities including Huntington, Oregon; Cookeville, Tennessee; Edgerton, Kansas and South Houston, Texas.

“Expanding our travel centre network through partnerships with existing facilities is a key part of our growth strategy,” said Jon Pertchik, CEO of TA. “Whether it is a full service travel centre or smaller format TA Express, this growth allows us to offer more drivers the fuel, restaurants and other services they need while doing their important jobs which, with the Covid-19 pandemic that is currently impacting our country, are more critical than ever.”
