Tunsgate Quarter welcomes Design Vintage to scheme

Tunsgate Quarter Guildford, the 80,000 square foot retail, leisure and dining destination located in the heart of Surrey’s county town, is delighted to announce that leading homeware and interiors brand Design Vintage will be joining the scheme, opening its doors to Guildford shoppers on January 9th 2020.

Set up and owned by Interior Designer Lisa Brass, Design Vintage is one of the South’s leading retailers of original vintage furniture and modern homewares, and has a large Chichester based showroom and successful online business, having started life in a small Brighton shop in 2012.

Tunsgate Quarter is home to top lifestyle brands including The White Company, Nespresso, Penhaligons, Cath Kidston and Bobbi Brown.  Design Vintage will further strengthen Tunsgate Quarter’s enviable homeware offering, which already includes OKA and Loaf.

Claire Suggitt, Centre Manager, Tunsgate Quarter, comments: “Growth in the homewares sector is going from strength to strength and we are delighted to be able to increase our offering to our customers by introducing the unique and wonderful Design Vintage to Tunsgate Quarter.  The brand will provide a fresh and exciting range of home items to Surrey shoppers, supporting our vision to offer a truly aspirational retail experience in Guildford.

Commenting on this exciting new venture, Design Vintage Founder, Lisa Brass says: “I am absolutely thrilled to be opening in Guildford.  After the success of our Chichester store and recent pop ups on the King’s Road, Guildford seemed like the obvious choice for our second permanent store. The new space at Tunsgate Quarter with its stunning views over the castle, will make the perfect home for Design Vintage.

Owned by Merseyside Pension Fund and asset managed by CBRE, Tunsgate Quarter opened in 2018 and offers a desirable range of high-end retail brands plus diverse and popular dining options including The Ivy Brasserie, Vietnamese Pho and Cosy Club.  Boutique gym operator Fitness Space fulfils the centre’s leisure option, supporting Tunsgate Quarter as an all-day destination with its gym, studio and café.  The acquisition of Design Vintage was managed by lettings agent Bruce Gillingham Pollard.

Tunsgate Quarter forms the heart of a £30.3 million redevelopment of Guildford’s historic Tunsgate area, and borders the cobbled High Street and the 11th century castle, as well as the recently pedestrianised Tunsgate Street with its collection of independent retailers.
