Uber Launches Rapid Grocery Delivery in Paris

The company has expanded a partnership with French retailer Carrefour to debut a 15-minute grocery delivery service in the French capital.

Uber has said that its new partnership with Carrefour, called Carrefour Sprint, will let users of the service order from nearly 2,000 daily essentials such as fruit and vegetables, dry goods and cleaning supplies. The items are held by Cajoo at nine of its dark stores in Paris.

Earlier this year, the pair announced a partnership that allowed users to order groceries online from nearly 2,000 stores. Now expanding upon this, Carrefour Sprint will launch in Paris and then in other French cities such as Lyon, Bordeaux and Toulouse in the coming weeks.

Eve Henrikson, Regional General Manager of Uber Delivery EMEA, commented: “Over the past 18 months people have increasingly come to expect quick and reliable delivery of everyday essentials to their doorsteps. In Europe alone we’ve seen a triple-digit increase in demand for grocery delivery.”
