Uniqlo Plans More Stores in Singapore

The apparel retailer says that it will open an additional five stores in Singapore, bringing its network in the county to 31.

The first of the planned stores will be the brand’s first neighbourhood store, and will be situated at Ang Mo Kia and Clementi. Opening in Q1 this year, the 1,297sq m store will be a testbed for inclusive in-store features such as wheelchair-friendly fitting rooms, community partnership projects, and sustainability initiatives.

The locations of the additional four stores have not yet been revealed.

Yuki Yamada, CEO, Uniqlo Singapore and Malaysia, said: “To complement our existing network of mall-based outlets, the new store at Ang Mo Kia 51 will bring LifeWear essentials closer home to the heartlanders to enjoy shopping convenience.”

The company has also launched Uniqlo Repair Studio in store, which is the first permanent offering in Asia to extend the life of Uniqlo clothing. Trained staff and the site will repair and alter damaged clothing in line with the brand’s sustainability initiative.
