The Tokyo-based apparel giant will open four new stores in Canada before the end of the year, with plans to enter Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and Langley.
The expansion builds upon the brand’s goal, launched in 2022, to reach 200 locations in North America by 2027. The new Uniqlo stores opening in Canada this fall are in CF Sherway Gardens in Toronto, Heartland Centre Town in Mississauga, Bramalea City Centre in Brampton and Willowbrook Shopping Centre in Langley.
“We have seen incredible momentum throughout Canada and we couldn’t be more excited to open four new stores,” says Daisuke Tsukagoshi, CEO of Uniqlo North America.
In the US, Uniqlo is expanding its footprint in California and entering new markets as part of its accelerated growth strategy. It will open 11 new stores across Texas and California in 2024. The new locations include the company’s first-ever stores in Texas (in the Houston and Dallas markets) and its first outposts in San Diego and Sacramento, California.
Also, GU, the lower-priced and more trend-driven sister brand of Uniqlo, will open a 10,225sq ft flagship in the SoHo neighbourhood of downtown Manhattan in the fall. It will be the brand’s first permanent store outside of Asia.
