The new 6,5000sq ft flagship store, located in Manhattan’s SoHo neighbourhood, intends to bring customers together to play and shop.
The new store is the sports equipment giant’s second permanent store in the US, the first of which opened in July. Further locations are planned, with Wilson on the hunt for sites in Los Angeles and ones in Chicago and New York.
The new flagship is designed to reimagine the traditional sports store and it brings together an atrium space called the Thomas E. Wilson Park, named so in honour of the brand’s founder. Spanning 2,500sq ft, the park is built to inspire and play and can be transformed to let visitors try out nearly any product available in store.
Gordon Devin, President of Wilson Sportswear, said: “We are excited to introduce our premium brand direct retail model providing an immersive Wilson experience through innovative products, constant inspiration to play and sport-specific staff expertise. New York is a priority market for Wilson as we continue to expand our retail footprint globally.”
