The 60,000sq m project, situated in Salalah in Oman, intends to become one of the country’s leading tourist attractions.
Muscat National Development & Investment Company (ASAAS) has announced the commencement of construction works to develop the Al Hafa Waterfront project in the Al Hafa area of Salalah in the Governorate of Dhofar.
The total area of the waterfront project will be more than 60,000sq m and ASAAS has assigned the main contractor to construct the traditional heritage souq, with the developer pointing out that the Al Hafa region is a vital waterfront in Salalah and one of the most important landmarks in Governorate.
Upon completion, the project aims to be one of the country’s leading tourist attractions. According to Ahmed Salim Al Busaidi, Chairman of ASAAD Board, partial operation of the market is expected to be in July 2022 whilst the full operation will begin in 2023.
