Work Continues on New Terminal at Kuwait International Airport

The project is now around 40 per cent completed despite the ongoing impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Set to cover a total area of around 1.3 million square feet, the new terminal is located between the Eastern and Western runways and will connect and extend to the new passenger building.

The terminal will feature space for aircraft parking and a runway that connects to the existing Terminal 2 runways. The terminal will also house air services and service tunnels that are associated with the main building along with a power plant and 28 Terminal Gates, including 8 Gates for Airbus A80.

Upon complete, the T2 project will be one of the most environmentally conscious and advanced airports in the world and will also be dubbed as the ‘iconic gateway into Kuwait’ a Government official said.

The project currently stands at 40 per cent completion and is a key part in realising Kuwait’s Vision 35.
