The permanent Godzilla ride will open on May 19, 2021 at Seibuen, an amusement park located close to Tokyo and Tokorozawa.
The Seibuen Amusement Park has been renovated during its Covid-19 related closure and is now set to hold a grand opening on May 19, where it will also unveil the Godzilla ride. Officially known as Godzilla the Ride: Great Kaiju Decisive Dominance Battle, the attraction is seemingly a dark ride where guests are set to experience a showdown between Godzilla and King Ghidorah.
The world’s first Godzilla ride is located in a cinema building at the end of a shopping street that is inspired by Japan’s Shõwa era (1926 to 1989). According to the Seibuen website, the ride will ‘sweep you up in a whirlpool of transcendental excitement as it ‘never stops to give you a chance to catch your breath’.
CG Visuals for the attraction were directed by Takashi Yamazaki, a Japanese film director, screenwriter and visual effects director.
